LGRRC Tacloban team
The Local Governance Regional Resource Center (LGRRC) of Tacloban City Operations Office is led by Engr. Visitacion V. Giva, City Director and assisted by seven (7) organic personnel and four (4) Tacloban City Government personnel assigned in the DILG Tacloban City Operations Office.
The LGRRC has five (5) facilities, namely: Capacity Development, Linkage, Public Education and Citizenship, Multi-media and Knowledge and Institutional Support with the following functions:
Capacity Development:
Provide quality, needs-based and innovative capacity development services that showcase replicable practices by partner agencies, local government units and stakeholders.
Translate the process of local development planning in response to the needs of its stakeholders.
Linkage:
Provide linkage between and among partner agencies, local government units and other stakeholders.
Establish an inventory of pool of experts, coaches, trainers and local resource institutions.
Serve as referral service, broker and repository of profile and/or directory.
Public Education and Citizenship:
Provides venue for knowledge sharing of local governance initiatives and replicable practices.
Facilitate the conduct of knowledge exchange programs.
Conduct of Information, Education and Communication Campaign.
Establish partnership with media.
Promote the compliance to e-procurement law.
Multi-media and Knowledge:
Maintains and updates the knowledge products and inventory of knowledge services.
Provide access to the physical and virtual LGRRC of the city.
Institutional Support:
Maintains and updates the knowledge products and inventory of knowledge services.
Provide access to the physical and virtual LGRRC of the city.
The heads and his/her members shall provide updates to the LGRC manager on the delivery of the services.
The center takes charge in carrying out the national mandates and directives for effective and efficient governance at the city and barangay levels. Moreover, the LGRRC of Tacloban works closely with the Multi-stakeholders' Advisory Council (MSAC) headed by the DILG Tacloban and the following members: City Government of Tacloban, Bureau of Fire Protection Tacloban City Fire Station (BFPTCFS), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Male and Female Dormitories, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Tacloban, Tacloban City Police Office (TCPO), Tacloban City Department of Education (DepEd) Division, Leyte Normal University (LNU), Philippine Red Cross and Bombo Radyo Tacloban.
